Are you on crack? There's no time machine yet. His life is fucked. The money just helps care for him and might make the family's life a little easier. Unless you've got some magic idea on how to reverse his situation?
Exactly. As you are so blunt; his life is fucked.
Re: The money just helps care for him
How about you and all the other liberal fuckers on here start doing some proper campaigning for better road safety in the UK? For all the wet organisations pushing their shite paint lines down the road kind of solve a problem ideas, cyclists are still ending up under vehicles and fuck all is being done to prosecute drivers, is'nt it?
The police are supposed to serve and protect, and yes, sometimes they fuck-up big time and in this case they have, so they should cough up mega money to Mr. McLeod, but it will happen again to some other cyclist and the whole she-bang will start again with only the motherfucking lawyers making any money out of it, and cyclists will still be targets/victims and fuck all will be done with solving the problem (and it is a problem) of cyclists and motor vehicles on the same roads.
As we are surrounded by a public whom think that we should all help ourselves by wearing helmets to save our lives (and fuck, it's our fault if we don't) I suggest we all stick together and march on Parliament to change the shit laws of our country regarding death on the roads.
However, the general public is only interested in Eastenders, so that won't happen.
However, cyclists will moan about the right to wear earphones whilst cycling (a stupid/soft idea) and other petty matters, rather than campaign for a safer road environment for all.
No, I'm not on crack.

scottmac are you really incapable of holding the (not very) nuanced position that fucked up with a bundle of cash > merely fucked up. "Better" does not necessarily imply good, in this case it could well be taken to mean "less shitty", comprende?
Yes, comprende.
Now fuck off.

I'm too busy riding my bike. How is me stopping that and instead waving a flag at some cunt polly in their Jag any better?
I don't know if I've fucked a liberal - how do I tell?

What makes you think we are not?
Appreciate that there is a lot in the current situation to be angry about but I don't think this is the appropriate thread to express it in the way that you are.

Meh, just reply to the users posting sensible rational answers/questions and let people who want to troll, troll each other.
Will the settlement now be out of court, or, is there another hearing?
-
• #37
There will be another hearing to determine the quantum of the claim, liability having been established, although the parties could agree on the amount of damages to be paid which would prevent the need for another hearing.

Scottmac seriously, your venting on a public forum isn't helping your arguement
Different circumstances I know but, after +10 year legal case, my cousin received £5million in damages from the home office after an accident in prison 17 years ago All of it goes to 24/7 home care... I'm sure if asked he would want his life back.. He is mute, severely brain damaged, wheelchair bound, with no understanding whatsoever.. His family gets none of the damages, only the medical assistance until he dies. It is hard to comprehend the quality of his life..
I pray that the Macleod family can find some peace after their ordeal..

as someone with first hand experience of the horror of RTI based injury, i can tell you that every fucking penny you can milk out of the situation goes some way to alleviating the ongoing suffering of those afflicted.
