  • After the second one we had a page feature in*** the comic*** and their review had PROS:route and atmosphere CONS:signs. That year the signs were shit hot, nobody complained and I collected maybe 95=+% the week after.

Rep for the use of the term "the comic" :D

Anyone moaning about signs instead if enjoying what is perennially regarded as the best ride in London needs to do one.

    This, in spades

I improve my 'threading and handing over of signs to taller person for actual affixing' skill each year. Could have done with a few more people though.

You are a stalwart of the Team Sign!

Interesting how lots of people like to comment/input/criticise whatever after the event and are pretty quiet when help is requested, huh?

And FWIW, the London Classic remains my most favourite cycling day of the year - I must admit I felt less than excited when I first saw the weather, but a good dose of HTFUand like a wet Glastonbury, a wet London Classic is good for the soul, in a wierd British, we're all in it together, gritty bleak way ; )

And the London Classic is fast becoming my own reliability trial - each year I make it up more hills with a bigger gear - it's good to see and feel improvements!

So yeah, in conclusion, massive, massive thanks to Dave and Adam and James and Brixton Cycles and The Gypsy Hill Tavern for everything they do on the day, and everything leading up to it.
