Pub, Franken, Rat. That order.
Pub bike? I do a hell of a lot more on it than ride to the pub and back, that's good kit on that frame, and although the frame is covered by a rather horrible layer of hammerite, it's an old 1970s track frame, builder unknown. That paint is coming off soon, anxious to see what is underneath, perhaps a clue to who built the thing. It's got some lovely lugwork on it

Oh I completely agree with you, I was just retorting to Sergioflorez's comment about the last three (yours too) not being rat. I couldn't really classify it better than it being a daily used companion. Too nice to be a rat to me. Also no franken.

Thanks. There's a lot of love gone into the build, it's a beautiful bike to ride with the slightly relaxed track geometry from the era. Would love to know who built it.

Are you going to finish the sand job? Love how lugs look raw like that. That's the next stage for mine, nitromors the paint off, polish it up a bit then lacquer it and rust proof the inside.

How do you rustproof the inside?

jimmy, the frame came like this (previous owner must have given up) and since im a lazy sod i think i will just leave it as is, have oiled it and will keep an eye on the rust situation.....

this totally reminds me of a krew bike that was modified to run inflatable scooter wheels... tiny kids cranks gave it just enough room to clear the ground when turning
... riding it i remember thinking magnesium spark bars would be a show dippin around corners dragging the pedal to make contact when leaning into corner
some night time Sh!t.
