Some stuff is in a pipeline that I'm loosely involved with. Bassist/writer is a rider but unsure if he's on here. Drum tracking starts soon

I hate that Djent and Prog Metal are now considered the same thing. I love a bit of Meshuggah and I love a bit of psyche metal, but never the twain shall they meet in my book.
This was my old prog metal band. Now that's prog metal your milkman can whistle.

Ah, the endless debate on who or what is djent and who is ripping off who. I like it but it kind of blew up massively and then became immediately samey, it went full retard. All sounds like Sikth anyway.

Nice one James.
I myself like to listen to more "classic" prog metal.
Favourite at the moment: Opeth
But I like Between the Buried and Me also, which should be the "youngest" band on my list..Animals as Leaders is proper crazy. Love it. ;)
Edit: After listening to your stuff on soundcloud: Love it. Only thing I dislike with djent is the sound of the ultra-low tuned guitars. Love the composition though.

Cheers! It took a fair while to get from 6 to 8-string, but I'm loving it. Kind of hard to make any bass lines stand out though! Between the Buried and Me are great - get better with each album.
How about this to start the weekend ;-)

Any fellow cyclists out there who also like listening to / creating modern prog metal / djent tunes?
Is this too niche for it's own dedicated thread?
Let's find out!
Here's one I made earlier:
