For Sale: Avanti 'Ottadini' 753 frame

  • I bought this delightful frame from dRibble last week but its still not quite right for my wifekins, which is a real shame as its a beauty, with some great detailing, like the little cinelli 'c' on the fourth image......
Its Reynolds 753 through out and very light and comes with a campag record headset that runs very smooth. The paint work is generally good but there are a few chips, especially on the forks. My preference though would be to keep it, as its such a great finish, but thats just me ....
    measurements are:
    seat tube C-T 50.5cm
    top tube C - C 53.5cm
    130 mm rear spacing.
I've removed a bottle cage bolt that was snapped in one of the braze-ons
so all it good to go. I'm looking for **£160 ** collected from Forest Hill, happy to ship at cost.
Pm rather than dibs, please let me know if you have any questions.

    for him.

  • Bigfish,

the two main references to Ottadini's on the net cite them as A: being produced by Colin Laing for Eddy McGourley at Pedal Sport Cycles in Sunderland,[http://www.hill-special.co.uk/history.html](http://www.hill-special.co.uk/history.html)

and B: moving to the US of A courtesy of her majesty's secret service ....

Is it British?, is it American ? or from somewhere in middle of the the Atlantic ocean? My instincts and the detailing tell me that this is an english frame from the the late 80's early 90's. I recently picked up an Edison for a friend, which was built nr Sheffield at a similar time. The lug construction and choice of drop outs seems consistent with that and other frames from local builders of a similar ilk .....

  • Still available, price drop. Really a very nice frame with a unique finish.

  • Last bump before it heads out into the Bay ...
