New:
South of the riverAm I missing out on the cryptic clue there?
-
• #14703
wow, nice work. I seem to remember being stopped by some campaigners with clipboards at the new location - something to do with poo and stuff, I seem to recall.
wish I could get out and check whether my memory is what I think it used to be

Am I missing out on the cryptic clue there?
Not that I can see. The location of this requires some specific local knowledge... If it's where I think it is.

So where was the old tag?
-
• #14706
old was Heathrow? Some tube terminus out west...

There goes my Friday ride. Well done Ruserius.
Also, ha to the naysayers!

Yay, good work Ruserius. Rep winging its way over.

Great new tag. Glad to hear the boundaries are wider that the south circular.
-
• #14711
Your mom is wider than the south circular.
-
• #14712
The south circular is fictional. The north has a proper road.

how on earth do a few of you seem to know the new one? i just see trees by a river and nothing identifiable in the background either.
which is fine by me because i don't have time to play.

We may have ridden across from here
-
• #14715
Indeed, one has.
-
• #14716
I'm tempted to suggest it's one those reservoirs out west, but then why the change in daylight between tags?

How many big rivers are there in London?!
-
• #14718
It's the river. it's the south side of it. The relatively narrow width tells you it's west, not east.
If you keep riding along the south side of the river you cannot fail to arrive at the tag. -
• #14719
Plus seeing as there are trees either side of the river, you know it probably can't be anywhere East of Hammersmith Bridge...
-

Indeed, one has.
thanks for adding an actual clue!
-
• #14721
All right, that's quite enough clues, everybody, you should be aware that it's pretty easy if you know where it is.
-
• #14722
if you know where it is.
Oliver, the point of clues ... Oh why do I bother.*
OK so I finally looked at Google maps. I've been trying not to. But I have to admit: Nice isn't it?
And it turns out Heathrow isn't out of bounds. Sorry I said it was, Yaysayers.
*intentionally rhetorical

So the new one: Can we have a clue please? An actual clue, from which someone who doesn't know the three-boled tree on the south side somewhere upstream of Richmond could solve the riddle?
That's right, I just used the word 'boled'.

There are a few clues in the photo which narrow it down - no buildings opposite, red bouy, stairs, tow path. And can confirm I am playing by the (original) rules.

http://tubeforlols.wordpress.com/2013/06/03/portals-of-feeling-portals-of-flight/^ Ha, this blog was written by the father in law of Harold, from here, who posted about it in my Underground thread.
I'm guessing the new one has something to do with the boat race, but may be wrong.
That is an impressive 3rd post! What a way to get out of the nursery.
