great day out
sun for most of the day wind not too strong
a bit of toing and froing in the upper reaches as it ran under luton in parts and on private and unaccessible land in others
luckily we had a mobile with maps on so we could navigate round sections but once we got to hertford it was towpath all the way
took in some interesting sections, similar to the brighton ride with fields and old railway lines providing the way
once we got on decent smoothish canal path the pace rasied and we whizzed from hertford to broxbourne in next to no time
brief stop for chips and icecream in nazeing ( top chippy by the way ) and down the last section to london home about 8 after leaving luton leagrave common about 12 ish ? i think
cheers to the other two for sorting the route as i said my organising skills leave a little to be desired but we got there in the end
another one on the cards in the next couple of weeks and with new route knowledge it might be a bit smoother in the upper reaches -

Did you actually reach the Thames?
Whatok's strava suggests not! The problem with getting to Trinity Buoy Wharf off the top of my head is that you can't follow the lower end of Bow Creek, partly due to the path that follows Bow Creek by Canning town, which was built at the same time, never having been opened due to petty local authority disputes.
I'd really like to see this sorted out one day, the path under the A118 has improved access down this part of the Lea and it would be great to open it all up.
