'Tied & soldered' is where wire is wrapped around where the spokes cross and then soldered, this stops the spokes from flexing and makes the wheel much stronger.

No, you cannot fit a Shimano 7spd freehub to 8spd Campag hubs

So a year on these are still sat in my spare room.
