I can vouch for the quality of those Chubs to A23s. I would buy them if I didn't have exactly the same wheel set.

• #3
Man I miss that Chub/A23 wheelset.
-
• #4
Mega wheelset - I wish I hadn't just spent my money on a dozen other things

Unfortunately, the wheels lost their value when they got Indra'd. I'm glad they didn't explode on you.

Nevermind... ¬_¬

Not really fully Indra'd, but it made a nice grinding noise inside the first 500m of last years Cambridge ride. The hubs are pretty bombproof, they're still fine. Just a bit of history for the kids to tell their grandkids.
I think Dom built these with his own fair hands and he builds great wheels.

I'd say it was more like the first 50m haha. The damage is only cosmetic, and could probably be made less noticeable with a marker or similar.
can get another picture if needed.
Also, bearings have been replaced since I've owned them.

Love that chub build. Been riding the same myself for over three years now and they're completely bombproof. If I could justify another set in any way I would! GLWS

-
• #14
no one for those Chubs? so damn good...
-
• #15
would you split the chubs? would like front
-
• #16
You should take both, they're great wheels.
I probably would if I had anything for them to go on.
-
• #17
I'd rather not split.
I'd like these gone sooner rather than later, so big price drop.
Chubs now £300
Tubs now £80 -
• #18
weight of chubs?
-
• #19
About 1700 grams with rim tape when I checked.
-
• #20
cheers Indra, I can weigh them when i'm home if you want master? but would be with tyres and tubes and stuff.
from a quick google the rims are 450g each, rear chub is 296g, front chub is 96g. then plus spokes and nipples etc.
-
• #21
no need, will think and get back if interested
-

hi there, how many miles have the tubs done and do you know a rough weight of the build?
-
• #24
Sorry, I have no idea how many miles they have done, they were on a complete bike that I got recently.
I can weigh them this afternoon and let you know.
