  • O2's phone-included Refresh tariffs now revert to essentially their SIM-only rate after you've paid for the phone, so e.g. you get the handset on 0% interest for 24 months. You might get a better discount on the handset somewhere else, but at least it's not the rip-off that inclusive tariffs used to be, where you were basically getting shafted unless you ruthlessly exploited the handset upgrade policies.

    Personally, I've been on SIM only for over a decade, but if I wanted a bleeding-edge high-end handset like a Nokia 1520 which isn't being heavily discounted yet, the O2 offer doesn't look bad.
