older with downtube shifters - so am looking to trade for a classic steel Italian or English bike from the 70s to early 90s
needs to be routed out of the top of brake hoods, so that will rule out post 87ish bikes
Staying true to L'Eroica Italy - our riders need to observe Ride Day Rules - we call them the 'Good to Knows'.
Only cyclists with "heroic" bicycles will be permitted to participate
'Heroic' bicycles are road racing bikes, built before 1987
Gear shift levers on the down tube of the frame (exceptionally, only pre-1980 bar-end gear shifts are allowed) -

Ah, thanks Hilly Ben.

I'd swap with the Benotto!

Thanks - the Benetto wouldn't qualify - although a lovely bike.
Happy to consider offers for the Tecnos.

My Carlton Continental Tru-wel does qualify ;)
Albeit not sure it qualifies here :p

I am pretty sure the Benotto would qualify. You might have to route the brake cables out of the to of the levers but I doubt they would be that pedantic.

Is this still available?
-
• #15
Yes, for sale or trade.
-
• #16
And did you see my offer for a trade?
-
• #17
Yes. I messaged you back.
-
• #18
Oh right, sorry that message was blank. Are you interested at all?

Thanks Battenberg, not sure what happened to my messages. Lovely bike, but I need older Campag for L'Eroica apparently - brake cables have to come out of top of levers.

OK, I've found a bike now, so this is for sale not trade and reduced to SOLD
I'm entering L'Eroica Britannia and regretfully need to replace my Colnago Tecnos with something older with downtube shifters - so am looking to trade for a classic steel Italian or English bike from the 70s to early 90s of similar dimensions -
ST - 57cm c-c (61cm c-t)
TT - 57cm c-c
HT - 17cm
Campag Chorus 9spd with 172.5mm cranks. Wheels are Campag Scirocco.
As can be seen, it's Frueler construction, so suits the taller or long-legged rider (I'm 1.82m with a long inside leg). The bike was built up for me at Sigma Sport with new headset and BB and has since done less than 100 miles - being taken out only occasionally as I struggle for confidence on the road after a big accident. It's in beautiful condition, with only a few tiny marks and no damage.
I don't want to split, but am willing to consider a sale of the whole bike - sale/trade value SOLD
