Didn't get a chance to catch Tour of Flanders today. Are there any videos out there yet covering the last hour(or more) of racing that don't give any spoilers in the title?
Thanks. -

Thanks.Go here;
http://www.steephill.tv/classics/tour-of-flanders/
13th link down has last 1:05 of the race, with no spoilers on that landing page.
(I've just done this exact same thing for a friend).

Anyone collected directly from BLB's warehouse? I believe it's in Leyton.
I'm requiring a Paul Components Thumbie, ideally tomorrow, and I don't think they'll have them in stock at Brick Lane itself.

What are people's general thoughts on sim only Vs normal monthly phone contracts. My current (24month) contract is coming to an end and I'm thoroughly pissed off with both Orange and my phone (HTC sensation).
I'm wondering if it's a cheaper/better bet to buy a new phone outright and then go for a sim only contract that doesn't involve paying off an expensive phone.

Always cheaper I find to buy the phone outright and then get SIM only monthly/yearly contract

^ True 99% of the time. Just calculate the costs and take into consideration how well you treat your stuff or how unlucky you might be when it comes to dropping phones in beer etc.
For me it's always been cheaper to buy separate phone with a sim only contract.

O2's phone-included Refresh tariffs now revert to essentially their SIM-only rate after you've paid for the phone, so e.g. you get the handset on 0% interest for 24 months. You might get a better discount on the handset somewhere else, but at least it's not the rip-off that inclusive tariffs used to be, where you were basically getting shafted unless you ruthlessly exploited the handset upgrade policies.
Personally, I've been on SIM only for over a decade, but if I wanted a bleeding-edge high-end handset like a Nokia 1520 which isn't being heavily discounted yet, the O2 offer doesn't look bad.

FAO: Web Devs
I have been asked to produce a web dashboard for a bespoke IT system, to show summaries in table and graph view etc.
I used to know HTML/CSS/PHP/MySQL (made a website part of my dissertation years ago) and am re-learning at the moment. I think this is out of my depth. Are there any easy solutions/frameworks that exist for this sort of thing or should I kindly tell them this is out of my depth?

I've got proper mtb shoes, I've got those Chrome Kursk ones that kinda bridge the gap between casual/proper cycling shoes and I've seen people riding with spds attached to everyday footwear. I have more trainers than a human ever needs in a lifetime (but still not enough) so I can spare a pair. I just wanna give it a try as a project really.
Have you had a look at this thread yet? -

Frameworks are two a penny these days. Real question here is how important is the product to the business? If it's mission critical then yeah, they need to know it's not something you are comfortable handling alone. If not, and its a pet project that can be done as and when, then look at it as a skills building exercise.

With a new fork, what is the minimum length it should stick out on the top?

Headset stack height, plus stem height, plus spacers if you have any.

Hello,
I need to install some protective bars on my motorbike. They protect the engine / oil carters and things like that when the motorbike fall. I bought them on ebay a long time ago, and never installed them as one of the fixing points is on a threaded rod that attached the engine to the bike frame. When the protective bar's plate is on, there not enough thread anymore to fit the bolt. So I need a longer threaded rod.
I don't know, shame on me what I need to ask for: what is the diameter of a threaded bolt?
http://www.usfastener.com/screwsizes.html
I know only the (a) dimension on the diagram, which is 10mm.
Does it mean I need to ask for a 10mm threaded rod or is it more complex than this?Is there a shop in London, or a good web address where I can buy a good steel grade threaded rods / washers / nuts: I don't want to get it from B&Q basic stuff as it's one of the 3 main fixing points of my engine on the frame (heavy, it's an 1100cc)
The other week someone dropped my motorbike where I work, luckily damage was minimal (as far as I could see) but I may not always be that lucky so want to install these bars now...
Thanks in advance for your precious advises!
Loic
PS - For instance, do you think this is of an acceptable quality?

Vello, you need to measure the length of the bolt you need to replace, not including the head, and get one that is about 10mm longer. If (a) is 10mm , it is probably an M10 x 1.25 thread size, but that is a guess. I wouldn't use studding as it is made to hold ceilings and ducting up, not huge engines.
Think about the clearance you have around the head, and whether you will be able to get a socket or spanner in there, or whether an 'Allan' bolt is a better bet.
I don't think Clerkenwell Screws will have what you need, but these people may have something suitable,
When I change the rear brake on my pompino from the current canti to a mini V - how do I change the cable routing? Will it be a case of bypassing the nipply bit that is currently being utilised for the canti and go straight into the noodle of the mini V?
Cheers,
Vlad
