  • So would this 18T, 1/8th inch one from Hub Jub not work?

    http://www.hubjub.co.uk/index.php/store/cogs-sprockets/white-ind-cog-detail

  • Hubjub is so 'lfgss approved' that I assumed you'd already looked there and not found them :-)

  • save by Dryden

  • Right- bit of an odd one, I need to do some pinstriping, i.e. paint fine, straight lines, very close to one another.

Is there, upon this fine forum, someone who can do this?

As else I fear I will spend ~450 hours carefully masking, and it'll still look shit.

  • Pin stripe tape?

  • The stripe must be paint I'm afraid.

  • Anyone know where I can get these in the UK?

I'd love a pair of SPD dress shoes

  • I'd love a pair of SPD dress shoes

They exist, I think some italian brand does a proper pair of cycling shoes that look like formal shoes.

  • Thanks. Any link to a clip. YouTube search not getting anywhere.

    See here;

  • ^^ Reckon it might be cheaper to make em myself, which also allows a wider range of shoes...

  • Quick question - what lever would you recommend to use on a moustache handlebar that need to work on alhonga brakes (sidepull)

Basically I want a shortish lever to be used from the straight part of the on-one mungo handlebar pictured.

    Cheers

I know a guy in Essex who does pinstriping. Or go to a hot rod show, there's always a pinstriping guy.

  • Quick question - what lever would you recommend to use on a on-one mungo

This page went down well last time I posted it.

Mungo is 23.8mm, which narrows the choice quite a bit. Either a road drop-bar lever fixed to the bend of the bar, or a bar-end lever like a Tektro RX4.1 plugged into the end.

  • Dia-Compe 139 fits, but it's quite cheap and nasty

    Thanks for the reply.
In terms of the bar end levers - it seems that people talk about:
    RL720, RX 4.2, or TT200

So what's the rub? What's the big difference between them and which one is "best" or best suited for my cheap-ish alhonga deep drop brakes?

  • Compared with other TT levers, the lever shape of the RX4.1 lends itself better to being used the wrong way around. The DiaCompe 188 is similar, you'd probably need the 20mm version. Cane Creek 200TT is just a Tektro RX4.1 with a different rubber bung and 50% hipster tax.

  • get a different bar

    yuh

  • I don't wanna be paying no hipster tax!!! I think the RX 4.1 is where it's at, to be honest - and I shall get a pair!

  • I used old road drops on a similar bar setup - I think they were old Weinmann levers - and that worked nicely without too much reach when they were angled properly.

  • Is there any way to convert my Novatec F482SB-10 shimano hub into 11 speed?

  • No, I had to buy a new one.

  • The man from Bdop, he say no

I'd be inclined to buy an F482SB-11 and rebuild the wheel, the DS flange is 1mm closer to the centre but that's unlikely to prevent re-use of the spokes. Before rebuilding, I'd see whether just dropping the 11s freehub and axle into the 10s hub gave me a 131mm OLN wheel with the rim near enough in the middle, as that would be a lot less work.

  • hmm i just PM'd 'him' (them) on weight weenies; got the same reply.

I'm sorry but the 10spd hub can't be converted to 11spd. The 11spd frrhub is 1.85mm longer so it doesn't work with the 10spd hub shell and axle.

I guess I'll rebuild. But thats not till 11speed 105 is released.
