The Rusty Box, yes I'd love to have a go on one of those! It might be worth having a scan of the Electrical Audio forum - there are plenty of English people on that board, many of whom will be Shellac fanboys - you never know, there might be a friendly Londoner who has one they'd be willing to let you try.

For that clanky, not too dirty bass sound I'm really pleased with my Tech 21 VT Bass - sounds great straight into a power amp!

Also heard about a boutique pedal company called Fuzzrocious for the first time this week, they have some interesting-looking pedals.

I found a darkglass microtubes b7k on denmark street and it sounds amazing so went for it. I'm rehearsing tomorrow so can give it a proper high volume test but its exactly what I was after, massive bottom end but much more clarity at the top end and a really fat overdrive.

Those fuzzrocious pedals look great, I'd like to try the grey statche. Really like that they build in extra functions as added extras, if you just want the basic pedal they're actually quite cheap as far as handmade pedals go.
