Audax rides

Hardly. I'm just using the routes for training when they fit in with my schedule.

making it AAA watertight would turn it into a tedious pub quiz or a not-so-secret control hell.

Good, I'm all for common sense being applied.

If it became all too strict I'd rather such rides lost AAA points rather than gained more controls (info or POP).

Can someone explain the term 'Larrington'? I like the sound of it.

Nearly larrington'd Toys and Brasted today on a perm, in the end impending showers meant I stuck to the original route and suffered like a good little box-ticking audaxer.

Bit of a late start to the season but did my first audax of the year today. The Wormingford Wyrm 100km. A few bumps but no killer hills to speak of and absolutely gorgeous weather. A lot of riders. My first audax on gears.

The stevenage start of summer
100 km was good on sunday. I dont think i will be fit enough for the 300 km on saturday . I feel another couple of 200's would be wise and a 300 in a few months.

Who's doing 3Down on Saturday?

Im booked up to attempt the 3down. I may give it a miss. 300 km is a little out of my range . After the 200km steam ride i was shivering and freezing like i was badly ill with flu. I was also boiling hot and sweating up , like i was ill. So i dont think i will bother. I understand it is fully booked. So if someone wants my place , it is yours.

Had a good day out on the Dean this Saturday past, with a chat to Vesalius and others on the run in to Oxford, so hoping for a similarly pleasant run this weekend.

Good to meet you too - I was just quite in awe of how spinny you managed to be. I'm normally reasonably spinny, or try to be, but even though I was doing about 90rpm when we were talking about it you made me look as though I was grinding my way along. (And you were claiming to be slow, too - that was not exactly the truth ...)
