That's fantastic news. Maybe fill out the contact form on the site so I get an email with your details? As you can see from the site, a bit of information about the history of the bike, photos etc would be great. I'm in touch with Stan's son and he's happy to look up frame numbers as he still has the records. In fact I had an email this morning saying:
"I can supply the original spec detail and confirm the tube type/manufacturer and whether silver brazed or otherwise, also the original owner name which may add some value for the current owner (where the records exists)."Exciting!

^ PM me and I will drop you my email with a brief description of everything I know.
So after a beautiful day out riding I find myself drinking beer, eating cheese and polishing up the nuovo record seatpost. Not a bad day if you ask me....
The seat post isn't in NOS condition but I dont have a problem with things that have a bit of life to them, stops things from looking too sterile..
Bit a brasso ( the wierd chrome pad/cloth one not the brass one ) and the seat post is starting to look pretty good.
It is a 27.0 and I hope it's long enough, I will be able to tell once I get the saddle on.

Having trouble DM as I'm a new member and need to post 3 times. Thought I had, but maybe they need to be in different threads?

you probably have to wait 24hrs after your first post or something but don't worry I'll find your email on your site..
and yes, bikes, beer and cheese is pretty much perfect.

Now the post and the saddle have made it onto the frame.
Really happy with double bolt / attachment on the seat post, compliments the saddle really well. It's not the lightest but then again nether is the saddle..
Its funny as at first I thought I wanted an aero post but now I think I would only go for an aero if I could get one with the same style of attachment. answers on a post card if such a post existis..
The saddle is a brooks swallow 2012 olympic edition, I bought it at the time as I knew the colour would compliment perfectly.
I'm a big fan of brooks, they're not the lightest but so comfortable, unfortunately it's been a while since I've had the pleasure due to Londons celebrated bike thievery.. -

Please unslam the stem, put drop bars on that, and put the chainring on the right side, like clubman suggested! The ring goes on top of the star-shaped crank area that has the bolt holes.
Lovely frame!

dont worry Skully it's a joke, it's going to have drops on it,
I just can't fit the drops right now.
I was going to test the stem lengh with some cinelli bars I had lying around but as suspected they wont fit in a custom stem.
I'm going to ask a mate to lend me a 3ttt stem 100mm just so I can test the lengh and then I'll go up from there.Yep clubman's advice will be headed and all will be set right right in the world, I am going to wait until I have purchased a bigger chainring as having to do each on of those little bolts up is a pain in the arse...
also you have to admit, it looks pretty funny with the risers on..

lol, as it were. Actially thought you were srs.
If you're going to ditch that TA ring in the picture, let me know if you'd like to sell it, I'm on the lookout for another outer ring - I'm guessing it's about 48-52t?

Can you get silks for clinchers? That's something I would like to know..
The wheels are 36 spoke so hardly the most tt worthy but they fill my riding to the pub needs pretty well.No. Silks, so far as I know, are always tubulars.
They would be useless for riding down to the pub: they are only to be used for racing, and then only when you're really pinging, and the weather's set dry.
That's why the last ones I had have decomposed on the rims - I did use them for my p.b. 25, but in the end I didn't have the form to justify putting those best TT wheels in the bike.

^^ hey skully i will keep that in mind! its a 48, I'm hoping to go up to a 53, any bigger and this is getting dangerously close to turning into an actual TT bike,
^ clubman thanks for the silks update, this is certainly going to be a dry weather bike, I describe it as a pub bike as it certainly isn't going to be a long distance bike but i think it will see a few flying laps here and there, it would be a shame not to put it ( and me ) through it's paces once in a while though.. then I can always go to the pub after :-)

Oooh I'm dead keen on getting hold of a 48 TA outer ... got a 52 on my tourer that's just a bit too much. I'd offer you it but it's fairly worn.
I may have a decent nick 3/32 single (ie without the bolt holes to mount inner rings) in more than 48 ... I'll rummage and get back to you if I have ...

REQUEST!!
Looking for an NOS set of Cinelli Campione Del Mondo bars,
70's stock - originaly design before changing to having the modern cinelli font on one side
I have a set of the later ones but the finish is matt.
Thought this would work better but I have now changed my mind.Looking to buy or swap for the ones I have.
Thanks!

40 or 42 would be great..
Hey James, yes I certainly would!!
Also in the article on your website about Jack Wood's bike
I cycled to Richmond park last summer to watch the men’s Olympic road race and just as we found our chosen viewing point I was rushed at by a very excited young man shouting “STAN PIKE”.
That would have been me...
