Made a complete mess last night but now set up 2x8 with Simplex downtube shifters and swapped the bars for Salsa Cowbells. Not quite sure I've got the hoods in the right position but far too tired and full of cold to apply bar tape or ride it up and down the road to see. Got a feeling the stem might be a touch short, thought I had a 90 or 100 in oversize, turns out I have 80 and 110. Stuck the longer one for now, see how it feels.
Should be picking up some Middleburn cranks for it over the weekend, not sure I'll get the spider/chainrings straight away, there was another bargain pair on eBay last night with purple anodised 46/36 chainrings and spider but I hesitated and missed out, a bit annoyed by that.
For now it'll keep up with commuting needs and a few short audax/perms. Will definitely need to work out the bike-luggage situation before attempting the Llanfair PG 400 on it though...
