  • Heard these are not uci legal, any one know more?

  • They were introduced before 2011 so don't need to be submitted for the list. As long as geo is standard they are legal. There's no freaky tube sizes or anything

  • Iirc, it's the fork blade shape that's iffy and may fall foul of the 3:1 rule.

  • After reading this thread I guess a 56 will be too big for me at 5 foot 11 so I'll leave this here

  • Sorry to post in this existing thread - but im in the nursery :(

I have recently purchased a Look 464 on closeout and was wondering whether the frame is drilled for a brake. There does seem to be a hole there but it is very small. I'm reluctant to drill as it's an aluminium frame but wondered whether the brake bridge is steel and therefore safe to drill, and if not, then why did they put 3 holes there from the factory if no brakes were supposed to be used?

My fork hasn't got a drill hole, so if I'm not supposed to drill, I guess I will have to get a rear clamp brake.

Iv'e attached pictures of the mysterious holes on the brake bridge.

  • Just a quick google found this picture:

which looks the proper size for a brake nut. I wonder why Look didn't drill it all the way through in my model. I would imagine the stiffness would be comparable between the track specific and road versions?

  • Mine was the 'fixie' version, stickered up and everything and was supposedly for use with rear brake and came with the little hole that you have. I assumed it was a pilot hole intended to be drilled out for a brake (which is what I did). I figured the 'track' version not for use with a brake would have had no hole in the bridge at all. I've never before seen a 464 like the 2nd one you've posted.
