  • The way aluminium works, is that a thin oxidised layer will form. (Whitish colour) this is hard & durable and protects from any further corrosion, as good a powder coat. Just stops right there.

    Yeah I thought so, but then thought I'd seen aluminium corrosion looking worse than that too. Maybe that's just when it gets under paint. Found a can of matt black enamel, going to paint over the stay just to make it look a bit neater.
