I bought these because I thought they might provide better grip with leather-soled shoes. Sadly not. Turns out that a £5 bargain basement pair of plastic pedals with rubber inserts fit that particular bill. The Ergons do, however, provide a fabulous platform for rubber soles, trainers, etc.
German innovation at its best. I quote:
