For your average millionaire who needs a rigid cruiser which is lighter than a bottle of bolly, but with an ironic heavy frame?
Niche.

WTF is it with these dwarf mudguards?
-
• #84629
The washer. It's only there to help you mount the tube. You put it through, put the washer on it (just a few turns so it stays on the valve, do not under any circumstance tighten it) and you can mount the tire. Then you remove the washer and throw it away.
Forgive the noob question, but do you really remove the lock / nut / washer / things?
I always thought you keep them, to prevent kinking of the shank. -

Dwarf mudguards stop your headset getting dirty?
-
• #84631
I'd have though it would get dirty anyway?
-
• #84632
So, like, why bother?
-
• #84633
You know?
-
• #84634
How do you manage with proper tubes, which have plain-shank valves?
I don't care about those but the washer can be nice for a novice who never does it. But then again, those people probably mount the washer and the valve cover.

Its a lock nut and in my household it get chucked out with the dust cap and the marmite.

• #84636
Yeah whatever. lock nut, washer, potato potato, tomato tomato.

Throwing out those things simply demarks you as a person making poor choices...
Marmite, man, Marmite!

Did I tell you I got my crack drilled in the end? After that I got a man to fill it in, then had it reamed.
It looks a bit messy and discoloured now, but it rides perfectly and I can get it as tight as I like without worrying about slippage.

No need for this filth.

I like this. Not sure about SS XC but slap some gears on it and it would be quite a cross country mile muncher.

And change that Q-ring chain ring to a round one.
Has any one noticed it's got an oval chain ring?

That oval chain ring is asking for two tight spots per revolution, no?
-
• #84648
No.
Always has half the teeth engaged.
There is a very small difference in chain length because of the different angles, but it's no more than you get from the lack of roundness with many 'circular' chainrings, particularly in that case where the chainstays are long and the size difference between chainring and sprocket is small.

Any idea what the saddle is?
(I assume that's a big part of what makes it fit so nicely)
It's a Prologo C.One.50, but now i've seen my saddle bags on a lot of saddles, and it depends on how you adjust it. Pretty easy to get it to sit somewhat flush on most saddles.
