Great visual indicators of how to occupy a lane

It would be good if there was a 'Drivers, chill the fuck out about about cyclists taking the lane, this is why they do it' or words to that effect.

Other side of the coin: there's space for an overtake but belligerence/lack of awareness from cyclists who decide they must ride 2+ abreast because their conversation is too important sometime leads to unnecessary conflict.
