First attempted double mara of the year this weekend up in beautiful scenic Wigan.
Day 1, smoothly running in 4th up to 20 miles, then wheels fell off quite spectacularly, and spent the last 6 bonking, being sick and barely moving forward. Mainly due to my outstanding preparation - hungover, not checking if the aid stations had any vegan food (nope) and wearing just a vest despite driving rain and hail (standards must be maintained). Still, held onto 6th, happy I had a good 20 miles, the rest will come back soon.
Day 2, knee went after 10 miles, so bailed at halfway and went to the pub. Good weekend.
