  • Well okay black tires (sometimes tanwalls) only in this thread or face public humiliation or stoning. Luckily it was not my bike which had "the wrong color tires". Its like in US b(l)ack in the day. Should I feel guilt for standing on minority's side? Dunno. But hey you are taking this thing to a whole new extent. Now black is the standard and white/green/whatever is a disgrace. "xD"

I don't think it's about conventions or disgraces or sets of rules, I think people are just generally agreed that tyres which aren't black or gumwall are fucking ugly.

If I thought it looked great but everyone in this thread thought differently, I'd carry on doing it, and respect for you for not caring and fighting your corner. And certainly there are trends in HHSB which can lead to bikes looking a bit 'HHSB by numbers' and not very exciting, so doing something different can be good. But equating people saying you and your mates' bikes have ugly tyres to us being a load of racists is just low and a bit of a pathetic argument.

Green/white tyres and white rims always look shite, especially on such nice frames, and that's that. No conspiracy, no racism, and no unwritten rules, just a bunch of people proving that there's a reason it's mainly only No Logo bike owners that think those things are a good idea.

  • tube protector is ugly i know, but it saves the top tube from getting fucked where i hang it :(

Can't you put something on whatever you hang it from rather than the frame?

  • Looks a bit like Obree's Old Faithful. Functional, but hideous.

  • I remember seeing the Corima bars on eBay, even on the correct bike they are just hideous.

  • Can't you put something on whatever you hang it from rather than the frame?

yes i could; thats a very good point! but it gets hung at work and at home, along with a bunch of other bikes at home, so just protects it all round really, plus it saves the top tube when i take a lock with me.

I'm going to sort it out though. it needs to come off haha

  • You could also put some heli-tape or actual clear frame protector pieces on the top tube, that would look much less intrusive but probably do the same job.

  • THATS a great idea! hadn't actually thought about that!

The grand plan is to get it touched up/repainted eventually anyway!
This frae deserves better than being a daily hack

  • It is a really nice frame, looks like a good build and a cool paint-job too. Get ride of the TT protector and take some better pictures!

  • exactly the same as this frame, so would be nice to take it back to its former glory!

Will do boss. i rely too much on the iphone for my pictures HA

Well put. Maybe I threw some troll -spice on there because people seem to get so rowdy about their conventions and "what-we-are-used-to". Although I think it is bit lame to just say that this and that is a disgrace without pointing out what makes something such a disgrace. I also think that no-logo shait bulk bikes are a bit different category than a "real" track bike that just has some colorful parts..but yeah the result can be somewhat "supermarket" sometimes (read most). It is a two sided sword I guess.

  • those cranks on corima

Picture by Ok123 of Big H's bike.

666 clincher disc and spengle clincher tri is a pretty slave combo.

  • Brakless Disko

    Seem legit

  • Pepe, did you buy that Rourke or was it built for you? Absolutely perfect.

  • ^ It was one very lucky ebay find just before Christmas, bad time to sell bike stuff.

  • Discs are sooo swag under optimal conditions

Unnecessary on the road but makes complete HHSB sense.

    im Fan

  • I don't like the piling on of skrtluv (although the tide is turning I think into a sort of respect for his commitment to a certain handlebar angle/taping techniques)

I can't deal with something being 'sooo swag' though. Sooo swag has broken me. Imagine hearing someone say that out loud to you. There aren't enough shudders.
