    So far as I know it goes disc being most aero, 5/4/3 spoke next then spokes least aero. Front wheel makes much more difference than rear - probably in terms of handling as well as aerodynamics though, hence why you don't see double discs in keirin and match sprint etc.

    Lenticular discs are more aero than flat ie Mavic v Corima and I'm seeing a lot of cheap chinese carbon tri and 5 spokes with non aerofoil shaped spokes ie they aren't directional and presumably aren't as aero as those that are.

    So, depends what you're doing. Pursuiting or timetrialling you'll want double discs and lenticular if you can afford it, sprinting well you probably want double disc for the flying 2 then swap the front out for heats/finals and bunch racing probably spokes or if you afford to be binning them when some twat swings up without looking then 5 spoke and disc.
