Purple & Black frame, no foot retention, single break (rhs), mobile phone to right ear. Brave.

I've spotted a few front brake only, no foot retention riders over the past week.

Saw Dennis' Pomp earlier parked up on the Curry Mile earlier.
Checked and it was actually locked, I was surprised. -

I was keeping a beady eye on it from inside the takeaway too.

Is it not well easy to nick the bag off the rack? (I have no idea how it's attached.)
-
• #3184
It is pretty easy yeah, just a couple of buckles. That's why I was keeping an eye on it from inside, if I'm leaving it for more than 5 minutes then I take the bag with me.
There was nowt inside it anyway, I figure most thieves will be more interested in the contents than the bag itself.

Now that the weather is improving I've spotted more and more 'competative commuters' ... I really dont want to race on my 1 mile ride to work.
-
• #3192
I had someone tell me off for drafting him earlier.
I was on the work bike you have to be the size of a van to have any effect. I just couldn't get past him due to cars.
-
• #3193
haha!
it does my head in, I'm usually on the pomp if I'm going to work so I'll be cruising at a chilled pace, and these hi vis lycra clad old dudes come past me and then keep looking over their shoulder to see if I'm taking the bait, no thanks, I'm not down with trying to race a tank down Lloyd Street during rush hour in clothes I will be wearing for the rest of the day.
-
• #3194
I'm guilty of the speedy, lycra clad commute, but mine is 20 rather than 1 mile and also makes up the bulk of my race training.
-
• #3195
speedy is fine, it's the trying to tempt me in to a race that annoys me.
I might be more up for it on the right bike and more distance.

They could just be diligent cyclists, checking that they passed you cleanly and to be aware of their surroundings/passing cars etc.
-
• #3197
saw some young kid in a sky team jacket on the canal toe path just past stretford. was on some pretty boring looking silver hybrid thing.

Yeah maybe, probably just me being bitter and grumpy that I'm going to work. Pre-coffee at that point too.

Well that's just unacceptable.
Platt Fields Skate Ramps and B'ball courts are full of Fixie Skidderz and Single Speeders right now.
