• My bro's Raleigh has developed cracks in the right chainstay and headtube. It needs replacing and the plan is to build a bombproof but decent-looking single speed conversion. It needs to be able to handle a heavily loaded rack - hence the eyelets requirement.

    Other preferences:

    • 531 or Columbus SLX tubing
    • Tight(ish) clearances with 700c wheels
    • Paintwork in need of restoration, as it'll probably get resprayed
    • Price - anything up to £150

    Whaddayagot?

  • I've got a 58cm 531 frame from a Falcon Strada in good nick - looking for £130 with Tange Levin headset and original BB.

I can get some pics this weekend if 58cm isn't too small?

Bike's in Cambridge, as well by the way. Currently a full rat/beater build so there's plenty more I can provide parts-wise should the need arise.

  • Sounds like a decent frame but sadly I think 58cm is a bit small. The frame it's replacing is a 58cm, but has a lot of seatpost sticking out the top.

  • I'm looking for exactly the same thing. Did you have any luck finding what you wanted? Any frames you could recommend from your search?
