Rider "collided" with car bullshit.
Very impressive that the bike was being ridden backwards what with the rear of the bike being buckled and all...
Heal up swiftly rider.

i do wish the ES would refrain from allowing comments on their reports of human tragedy.
-
• #7
Sometimes the ES does, but to be fair they should do it as standard, before the anti-cyclist bottom feeders start ranting. It normally has to get pretty bad before they switch the comments off.

It always ends up getting pretty bad.
I had a feeling something was happening last night as I was cycling through the back streets around there at this time. Lots of traffic and sirens.Wishing the rider the best

True. Newspaper websites are normally very quick to disable comments on stories where they suspect comments could be libellous or prejudicial to a future court case, but generally aren't as rigorous when it comes to stories about death and injury. If I were a close friend or family of some of these injured or killed cyclists, reading the comments section would break my heart.
Heal up riders. -

My sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of poor Mr Mason..
I notice the Evening Standard is continuing to use the term 'collision' in it's report because, they insist, the bike was moving at the time.. I thought forces had to be convergent for this term to be accurate? Apologies if this is not the place, but if Mr Mason was mown down from behind, then this was neither a collision nor an accident.
It is these two words in the media that have hounded me off the road - apart from 'no arrests were made'.
Coming out of my class tonight at Westminster Uni on Regent street and the scene was completely different from when I entered a few hours earlier. The whole road was completely sealed off by police - normally a very bad sign.
Walking down to the tube I noticed a bike in the hands of the police with a badly buckled back wheel.
No further details but some chatter about it on twitter.

Anyone know anything?
