Yes just sold.
I bought a lovely old Royal Mail post bike a while back, picturing myself coasting around the neighbourhood, picking up my organic veg and craft beer on it...
Sadly it hasn't happened, as I am too lazy to walk past the Tesco at the end of my street, so the poor old dear has been relegated to the garden. Rather than leave her there to rot away I'm going to send her on her way to a better place (with you!)
She is in ok condition but needs a bit of TLC and the Sturmey Archer is a bit temperamental and needs some work to get it to shift properly.
Just after I got her I was contacted by a TV company and she was ridden around on by a presenter in a series about the history of the postal service. Can't for the life of me remember the name, but it was Keo Films who contacted me. You too could own this FAMOUS BIKE! :P
Stainless steel rims so no rust.
Frame is solid and I've left her in her shabby chic state (!)
Nice white leather sprung saddle
Rod brakes.
Horizontal dropouts.
22 inches / 56 cm C-T for seat tube
22 inches / 56 cm C-C for top tube
Would suit someone of average height I reckon (over 5'8" maybe?)
I'm over 6 foot and she was a bit small for me, but still perfectly usable as a pootling bike.
I'd like to get £80 for her if possible, and see her go to a good home.
I'm in East Dulwich. Viewings welcome here most evenings/weekends.
Note: Although the hub gears are not fully functioning the bike is totally rideable (maybe not up big hills!) so you wont need a trailer or to collect in a car.
