I'm looking for an allround packable waterproof and windproof jacket for walking/trekking. It will mainly be used for trekking in Patagonia.
I'd like it to be pretty breathable as I run fairly hot, but obviously I realise that trekking isn't as high intensity as cycling. I'll be wearing a pack so it can't be too fragile, but space is the no.1 concern so I'd sacrifice a bit of durability for packability.
My first choice was this Mountain Equipment Firefox jacket as a friend's BF apparently can get them at a discount. But they're flakey so I'm not holding my breath. Also they have a new one, that looks better but is also £230.
Any other sensible options I should consider?
I'm looking to spend between £100-150 but I'd like to stay as close to £100 as possible.
Also if anyone has been trekking in Patagonia and is okay with me PMing them some questions that would be really helpful.
