VLM is so packed with people with names on their vests that spectators don't bother shouting names other than in the first or last miles. In that sense, weirdly, it seems like it's the least supported marathon it's possible to do. With smaller races, you may only have a few hundred spectators the whole way, but they cheer everyone individually.
