Perhaps the point is that he isn't a key man anymore at Sky. There is no obvious role for him there now.
He is a goal orientated athlete - the idea that he should be in GC leading form at the drop of a hat when he's effectively 3rd choice is just stupid.
He's obviously entering a different part of his career. Is it really OK to slag him off because he's not living up to your expectations?
