I've already payed my $2, perhaps showing too much trust. Seems pretty buggy to me but I'm happy to support Podium.

Gormley, don't you want to contribute to the software which has been used in a almost all the tourney's you played in last year?
I paid my reg fees to all the tournaments I entered. Yes I do not wish to contribute to the software.

Just to clarify Podium works as it always has. The new bit is for your profile. That will let you register teams (only one of the 3 in a team needs to have a profile), create tournaments, etc...
You can still manually fill in teams the old way, for free.

As soon as I made payment I got contact from my bank's fraud department asking to verify, there had been two withdrawls, one of less than £1 and one of £1.20(ish) for this, however I only paid once. Anyone else have any experience like this?

Podium doesn't store any credit card data by the way, it's all handled by stripe:

Since Podium data is being used for seeding now...
Are Podium and Hardcourtbikepolo.org now running on the same database with a single dataset, or is there some interface in the former that presents data like the latter does?
Looking at hardcourtbikepolo.org, I'm seeing zero results for:
LO 2011
Bristol NS 2012
UK&Ire Euro-qualifiers 2012 (Newington)
EHBPC 2012 (Geneva)Epiphanie 2013
Bristol Open 2013
UKChamps + Euro-Qualifiers 2013 (Cambridge)
EHBPC Wildcard 2013 (Krakow)
Canterbury Open 2013
Le Grand Royal 2013These are probably the 10 most significant unrecorded events in terms of the number of entered players for UKC2014 that should have results.

When did I give permission for my data to be transferred between hardcourtbikepolo.org and podium?
They need Ts & Cs, fast. (Without them the $2 charge and merged data seems pretty unreasonable/illegal.)

Hcbp.org is dead.
Podium imported data from hcbp.org, when that was used for registration. When hcbp.org was maintained (not for 2 years now) Zach would import results back in.
The reason the NAH commissioned Podium to write all the registration stuff was because hcbp.org isn't useable any more.
As far as I can tell all it imported was name, team name and user id (a hidden primary key)
(No emails, passwords, etc...)
All stats in podium are based on results in Podium.Emyr, if you haven't signed up for Podium, I'll check which ones you have stats for as soon as I get up (on pacific time right now)

Does each player have to sign up in podium? Lot of people can be in that situation
-
• #94
If its not too much trouble John could you have a look at mine? I'm worried that sometimes i'd be down as 'chan' and 'andrew' for others...

Victor, no you don't have to.
Everyone can exist as a profile on Podium as they have in the past, whenever an organiser adds you. (you had 3 profiles, I merged them all)
Signing up for an account gives you three things:
1) Ability to see your stats
2) Ability to update your details
3) Ability to register your team for tournaments. The tournament registration is a new thing, so far only used for North American tournaments. It's completely optional, Podium can still be used as it also has, without registration, it's just an added feature (meant to replace what hcbp.org did).

I did? Or Victor?

Victor.
You had a load too, I've just merged another into them (Andy and Andrew
There is also a Channing McRae from Edmonton ;)

Chan - try and sign up for podium (don't have to go through with it) and it'll prompt you to claim your name - pop 'Andrew' and 'Chan' in and see if it looks like sets of people.
I took a $2 punt, it has my 5 tournaments listed correctly and HSBC called me immediately afterwards to check I wasn't being scammed :)

Happy someone's done something about it.
Shame it wasn't more of a merger. When did I give permission for my data to be transferred between hardcourtbikepolo.org and podium?

So much this...
As far as I can tell all it imported was name, team name and user id (a hidden primary key)
(No emails, passwords, etc...)Could be worse, in data protection terms, but I'm not sure where this stands in terms of both Identifiability and how the data's classed in terms of sensibility.

Cheers. As there's no link from names in podium tourney pages to any kind of (read only) profile page, it wasn't clear they were still actually separate.
I'll happily join and pay $10, if they integrate the basic player, team and tourney management in a visible way, and they fix the T&Cs issue.

I want to sign up but don't currently have any cards that can do $2.
:(
It's a bit early to monetise things isn't it? Time to revisit Challonge maybe?
